Policies

A short page so there are no surprises. Most of it is what you would expect from a licensed therapeutic practice, written down so you know where you stand before the session starts.

It describes table sessions in the room. On-site chair massage is done seated and fully clothed, so the parts about the table and the drape do not apply; the Conduct section holds either way.

Your Appointment Is Time Held for You

When you book, that time is reserved for you and nobody else. This is a one-person practice with no overlapping sessions, so unless an appointment is known to be free, the time goes to waste. That is the reason for everything below.

Running Late

Arrive a few minutes early if you can, so you have time to settle before the work starts rather than climbing onto the table out of breath.

If you are running behind, call - a heads up is much better than wondering. The appointment after yours starts on time, so your session still ends when it was meant to. Arriving late means less time on the table, not a later finish.

Changing or Canceling

Things come up and plans change - that is understood, and you will not be made to feel bad about it. Just say so as soon as you know.

Give as much warning as you can manage. The earlier that is known, the more can be done with the time. If plans change and you are not sure what to do, call and ask rather than guessing.

If you wake up unwell, call and say so rather than coming in. Nobody wants you to push through being ill to keep an appointment, and a massage is not what your body needs that day anyway.

Draping and Your Comfort

You are draped for the whole session. Only the area being worked on is uncovered, and it is covered again before the next one. Draping is not optional and it is not something anyone can ask to skip - it is how licensed massage is done.

You undress to whatever level you are comfortable with, privately, and you are under the sheet before anyone comes back into the room. Plenty of people stay partly dressed, and that is fine.

Speak up at any point in the session. If the pressure is too much or not enough, if something hurts, if you are cold, if you would rather an area was left alone - say so.

You do not have to wait until something is already wrong. If there is an area you want left alone, say so before the session starts and it stays untouched for the whole session.

You can ask for the session to stop, and it stops. You do not have to say why. None of it is a problem.

Conduct

This is a licensed therapeutic massage practice. It is not anything else, and there is no version of the appointment where it becomes anything else.

Any sexual comment, request or advance ends the session on the spot. So does uncovering yourself, or touching your therapist. You will be asked to leave and you will not be booked again. There is no warning step before that. A joke does not make it something else.

If at any point your therapist does not feel safe or comfortable, the session ends. No explanation is required.

That runs both ways. You are entitled to a session where you feel safe and respected, and you can end it at any time, for any reason, without giving one.

Anything this page does not answer, just ask. Call 502-424-9552 and talk it through.
